Common Compulsory Foreign Language I-II Exemption Exam

Dear Students,
Students who are placed in the departments of our university, except for the departments with a compulsory preparatory program, are required to take Foreign Language (English) I-II courses in the first year. Students who have sufficient foreign language knowledge may be exempted from these courses if they participate in the General English Exemption Exam and are successful in this exam.
This exam covers the exemption exam taken by students in departments where education is conducted entirely in Turkish in order to be exempted from Foreign Language I and II (Basic English I and II or English I and II in some departments) courses taught in the first year of their education program. Students who will apply for the exemption exam must apply for the exam by clicking the link below and filling out the form between September 25-29, 2023.

The exemption exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions and lasts 60 minutes.
  • The General English Exemption Exam will be held face-to-face on October 02, 2023 at 14.00. In which hall the students will take the exam will be announced later on the faculty website.
In accordance with Section Seven, Article 18, paragraph 4 of the Directive,
(4) It is not compulsory to take this exemption exam. Students who do not take the exam are obliged to take the common compulsory foreign language courses. Students who want to take the exam submit a petition to the relevant unit where they are enrolled and the list of students who will take the exam is forwarded to the School Directorate. It is the student's responsibility to follow the exam application date and other important dates. There is no make-up exam and / or make-up exam for the student who cannot take the exemption exam.
